Boston’s Northeastern University and its exclusive licensee, Jarg Corporation, have sued Google Inc. in the Northern District of Texas for patent infringement. The suit alleges that Google’s search services infringe US Patent No. 5694593 relating to information retrieval using “fuzzy queries” processed by distributed, networked computers. The inventor is an Associate Professor of Computer and Information Science at Northeastern and a founder of Jarg. The suit seeks damages and an injunction.
