UN E-commerce Group Releases Revised Draft Convention on the Use of Data Messages in International Contracts

The Working Group on Electronic Commerce of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) has released a newly revised version of its preliminary draft convention on the use of data messages in the context of international contracts. The draft convention addresses many issues that are also addressed in the electronic commerce statutes in force in the various Canadian provinces, although the sphere of application of the draft convention has not been settled.
