Time Warner to Enter the VoIP Market in California Bangladesh to Open VoIP to Private Sector

Time Warner announced plans to enter the VoIP market in California next year. The company will cooperate with state regulators and obtain a telephone operator's license. This comes at a time when VoIP providers are challenging the state's request to obtain telephone operator licenses and the California Public Utilities Commission is preparing to issue a final policy position.

In related news, after two years of fighting to access the VoIP market, the private sector in Bangladesh will finally be allowed to provide VoIP services. The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission received the final recommendation of a task force headed by the Prime Minister in June of this year.
