Texas Doctor Sentenced to Jail for Prescribing over the Internet

U.S. District Court Judge Xavier Rodriguez recently sentenced 65-year-old David L. Bryson of Kerrville to two years in jail for prescribing narcotic painkillers to patients over the internet. Bryson worked with the internet pharmacy, The Pill Box, which was shut down last year by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the FDA and the IRS. Already stripped of his medical licence, Bryson pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to illegally dispense controlled substances and apologized for his actions, but received no sympathy from the Court.
