Rule Change May Put an End to Online Pharmacies in Manitoba

The Manitoba Pharmaceutical Association, the association that licences pharmacies in the province, has approved a new rule that would prevent Manitoba pharmacies from filling out-of-province prescriptions. Failure to comply with the rule, which is scheduled to take effect on June 30, could result in the offender having its license revoked. The rule, if upheld, could put an end to online pharmacies in Manitoba, forcing them to relocate to other provinces which do not have such restrictions. The Manitoba International Pharmacy Association is trying to work out a compromise between the Internet pharmacies and the regulator.
