Kissing Couple to Sue Metro Over Video
Last week, a three-minute video of a couple in their 20s, kissing and hugging at a metro station in China, was uploaded to Youtube.com and Ku6.com. The couple has retained a lawyer to sue Shanghai Metro Co. for allowing the video, which was shot in September 2007, to be broadcast on the Internet. Within two days of having been uploaded, it received more than 15,000 hits. The man recently resigned from his job saying that he feels very uncomfortable.
The couple alleges that the employees of the Company videotaped and leaked the video. A law school professor in China commented that if it is proven that the video was in fact released by the employees of the Company, the Company and those employees should take responsibility for the invasion of the commuters’ privacy.
