Industry Canada has released a consultation paper on proposed guidelines for electronic authentication services. The report sets out a number of principles covering the following areas:
These principles are to function as benchmarks for the development, provision and use of authentication services in Canada and they are intended to form the basis of codes of conduct, voluntary initiatives and guidelines that are tailored to the requirements of specific industry and government sectors. Comments are due by August 12, 2003.
