A day after saying it would not comply with the order, Google published on its Belgian Website a court order that forbids the Internet search company from reproducing excerpts from Belgian newspapers on its news service, Google News. Google was facing a fine of 500,000 euros a day if it did not publish the ruling. The ruling stated that by listing headlines and lines of text from articles as part of the Google News service, the company was violating copyright law.
