The U.S. Federal Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit has sent a class-action lawsuit, which is alleging “click fraud” by Google Inc. and a number of other large Internet companies, back to state court. The suit alleges that major search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, Ask Jeeves, America Online, Lycos, Looksmart, and Findwhat are billing and collecting fees for pay-per-click advertising which is not actually made or generated by bona fide consumers. The plaintiffs wanted the lawsuit tried in federal court.
