Dutch Police Make Arrests for Suspected Internet Fraud

Dutch police recently arrested more than 100 individuals from West Africa who are in the country illegally and believed to be involved in Internet fraud scams. The scams involve sending emails all over the world promising the recipients money from fictitious inheritances or lottery wins, subject to the recipient paying a "processing fee" of several thousand dollars. Recipients who pay the fee receive nothing in return. The arrests are part of a seven-month initiative by the Dutch police to investigate and combat such Internet fraud scams.
