Dow Jones Settling Internet Defamation Case by Gutnick

Dow Jones and Joe Gutnick, an Australian mining magnate, settled the Internet defamation case launched by Gutnick in Australia against Dow Jones for posting an allegedly defamatory article online. In 2002, the High Court of Australia, in Dow Jones & Company vs. Gutnick, confirmed the jurisdiction of Australian courts to hear the case that involves an article that Dow Jones originally published in the U.S. on the basis that people in Gutnick's home state of Victoria, Australia, could have read the article online.
