A class action suit in which Checkmate Strategic Group claimed that Yahoo was guilty of click fraud has ended in settlement. The judge for the California case has finally approved the settlement, which obligates Yahoo to pay approximately $5M in legal fees and give credits to advertisers dating back to 2004. Central to the claims were allegations that Yahoo fraudulently billed advertisers for clicks to online ads, which were either fraudulent or done in bad faith.
