Canadian Government Releases Copyright Reform Report
The Canadian government has released its official response to the Canadian Heritage Standing Committee's report on copyright reform. The government rejected almost every recommendation of the committee and instead, released a new plan for copyright reform. The statement of intent is an attempt to balance the interests of rights holders and users. The government has also outlined plans for anti-circumvention legislation.
