Atlantic Canada Governments to Sell Lottery Tickets Online

A recent report indicates that a lottery corporation owned by the governments of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador launched a website permitting residents of those provinces to purchase lottery tickets over the Internet. In order to comply with federal laws restricting sales by provincial lottery corporations outside of their borders, the Atlantic Lottery Corp. claims to have set up a system of checks and balances to prevent sales to minors and non-residents, which includes verification of identification by a credit information company.
