Apple's iPhones and iPads Alleged to Breach Privacy Rights

A lawsuit recently filed in U.S. District Court in San Jose, California alleges that Apple’s iPhones and iPads send user personal information to ad networks without the consent or knowledge of the user.  In particular, ad networks are provided with information relating to the apps being downloaded and the extent to which the apps are used.  The information is linked to the unique device identifier (UDID) for each iPhone and iPad.  Various mobile apps are also named in the lawsuit, which is seeking class action status on behalf of all relevant Apple iPhone and iPad users.
