Less than a month after Motorola sued Apple over patent infringement in relation to wireless communication technologies and key smart phone technologies, Apple has filed two separate lawsuits in a federal district court in Wisconsin against Motorola for infringing on patents related to its smart phones. Apple claims that Motorola’s phones, including the Droid, Cliq and BackFlip, violate its patents related to the iPhone’s touch screen and user interface.
Motorola was the second-largest phone maker until it was surpassed by others, such as Apple, as smart phones became popular.
