U.S. International Trade Commission to Consider Bar on Importing iPhones, iPads

HTC Corp., maker of phones based on Google’s Android software, is suing Apple Inc. for infringing five HTC patents. The suit is before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), which investigates patent infringement involving imported goods. Because Apple manufactures its products in China and elsewhere, a finding of infringement by the ITC could result in a bar on the importation of infringing Apple products into the U.S., including iPhones, iPads and iPods.
