International Cooperation Yields Conviction of Internet Software Pirates
Four British men were recently convicted and jailed for stealing expensive software from rich companies and giving it away for free over the Internet, costing these companies millions of dollars. The four men, motivated by their hatred of these software companies, were said to be part of a global gang of "Robin Hoods" forming one of the world's most sophisticated Internet piracy groups. The prosecution is said to have followed a groundbreaking crackdown on Internet piracy and unprecedented cooperation between U.S. and British authorities.
