File Swapping Arrest first in Hong Kong
Hong Kong authorities have arrested a 38-year old man for allegedly uploading recent movies including "Daredevil" and "Miss Congeniality" onto a common web site using the file-sharing program BitTorrent. This is the first arrest for sharing copyright files by Hong Kong officials, who had promised to increase their copyright protection efforts. The suspect faces a maximum penalty of four years' imprisonment and a fine of $6,400 per illegal copy.
